Welcome speech by László Nagy

In the last 40 years this club became absolute dominant in the Hungarian league while in the last five years that I have spent here we qualified for the Champions League Final4 four times in a row although Veszprém has been in Europe's top teams way before my arrival. We still want to belong there and get to the top.

 

Despite finishing in 3rd place in the last CL season we managed to finally win a game on Sunday and we could beat Barcelona. We hope that the atmospehere that was made in Cologne by our Supporters will carry on for the next season ahead of us. As a player and as captain of the team I can only guarantee that we will give our best on every game in order to make our Fans satisfied because they give the most important feedback for us. If they are happy then it means that the team is on the right way.

 

A lot of time had passed since our last home game that was available for our dear Fans in the Veszprém Aréna. We were happy to hear that inquery for our team is huge not only for the new players but for the new coach as well. Handball City Festival will be a good opportunity for the Fans and the team to get in touch and meet again.

 

I think the Plock, Celje and Kielce is worthy to participate in this tournament. We will face similar strenght opponent in the Champions League or we are even in the same group. Hence this will be a good preparation for us and the audience will be able to see exciting handball games.
