We will not play in this year's SEHA League

Veszprém joined SEHA – Gazprom League in the season 2014/2015 and right in the first year we hosted the Final Tournament including 6 teams of the league. We remember to that event with great memories because of two things: firstly because of the successful hosting and secondly because our team won the gold medal right in the first season.

 

 

The season 2015/2016 was another successful one, because our team defended its title in Varazdin in the Final4 in front of our many fans. A year later Telekom Veszprém qualified for the Final4 again this time held in Brest. There they managed to finish in second place.

 

In the last season we participated not only in the SEHA League and the Champions League but in the K&H Hungarian League as well where we had to play in the regular season. With these games our team played 70 games in total. In the last weeks, after long discussions the management of the club and the new coaching staff decided that they do not want to expose the team to such pressure in the season 2017/2018 hence we will not participate in the SEHA League.

 

In conclusion it can be said that our run in the South-East Handball Association was a successful one, not only because we have won 2 trophies in the last 3 years. We were able to play against regular Champions League participants on a high level in front of high attendance both at home or in away. Besides that we got many friendships in this sport that, naturally, we would like to take care of in the future.

 

We had, and still have, an exceptional co-operation between our club and SEHA League, furthermore our team benefited a lot from playing against such strong opponents week by week. Because of this we do not part ways with each other for finally. We will still keep in contact with SEHA - Gazprom League and we do not exclude ourselves from joining again in the future.
