“We always played difficult games against each other.”

On Saturday at 5 p.m. Telekom Veszprém hosts MOL-Pick Szeged in the regular season of K&H League. The game is broadcasted on M4 live. We asked one of our most experienced player, Gergő Iváncsik, about the past and the future.

 

 

Hello there! Both teams play well and perform well in the Hungarian Championship and in the Champions League too. Of course this derby has a prestige for both parties. It is a celebration in Veszprém and I think in Szeged too, when we go there. I hope it is going to be a great game and the fans will cheer even more than they did against Flensburg.

 

Szeged plays fast and accurate and also their defense is very strong. Despite of changing almost the whole team this summer they bonded quickly and showed that they have a place in the Champions League and in the Hungarian Championship as well. They are strong in both competitions.

 

 

Throughout my career every derby was held in a great atmosphere. We played good games against each other and it was always hard to play against them. I think their team from last year would have been a very strong one if they had stayed together for longer. If I have to make a power ranking from all the Szeged teams I would put this years' to the top 3. The first would definitely be the team with Andjelkovic and Krivokapic.

 

Regarding our team I think we are moving step by step. Our playing style that everyone is used to is fortunately coming back. I hope that we can grab a hold of that and we can start a great series. Right now we are preparing for the derby against Szeged.
