Veszprém – Zagreb pregame statements

The last game is coming in 2016. Tomorrow at 6 PM Telekom Veszprém is going to host PPD Zagreb. The match is going to be broadcasted live by Digi Sport 1. We asked head coach Xavi Sabaté and Patrik Ligetvári before this upcoming SEHA League derby.

 

 

Xavi Sabaté: This is the last match of the year, and we play at home against a good team who are in good form. In four days they beat us and Vardar also which means that they are in a good moment right now. It will be a difficult match because we had a lot of games in a few days. This is going to be our 40th match in thus first half of the season, as always, we want to win this. But it will be very difficult because our players are really exhausted. We will need all the remaining energy for the victory.

 

 

Patrik Ligetvári: We certainly hope to take revenge for the loss in Croatia. The team is exhausted but this will be the last match of the year at home court and we would like to say goodbye to 2016 with a victory in front of our fans. We will try to give our best but we have to be prepared from Zagreb well. They are strong in both defense and offense. Most of the times they defend in a 3-2-1 format. They play with a lot of cross-moves that we have to break with faults. The most important thing will be our defense and the quick fastbreaks coming from the defense. I would like to thank our fans for the year-long support and wish them happy holidays.
