Veszprém – Szeged pregame statements

 

Our head coach and players told their expectations before the upcoming Hungarian derby. 

 

Ljubomir Vranjes: I think they want a big revenge so we are preparing for a tough game. Szeged is a world-class team and it is going to be really interesting match to see how close they are. The key is always the defense. Our opponents have a lot of different individual qualities in their squad so we have to make sure that our defense is up to that.

 

 

Roland Mikler: This is a highly anticipated game in the Hungarian championship and in Hungary. This is a real derby. I think Szeged will come better prepared and driven by pride because we won with a big margin last time. They surely would like to surprise us. Our job is to play similar to last time in Szeged and with that, we can have the foundation. I am sure the Arena will be full, because everybody is interested in this game. We are feeling on ourselves that it is derby time in the weekend.

 

 

Gasper Marguc: Of course, every game against Szeged is a big derby in Hungary. I expect a really tough game. They have been playing good lately; they only lost to Barcelona by one goal. They are in good form but we are as well. We are improving in our game day by day. We are the favorites in our own Arena against any team, so against Szeged also. We will have to play a good game, especially in defense to be able to score some easy goals. I hope that we can reach our goal, which is a great result and a victory.

 

 

Andreas Nilsson: I think they are a good team and it is going to be a good fight. Of course, we have a home advantage with our fans. I hope it will benefit us. The key to winning is the same as always: good defense with great goalkeeper performance, and running through the whole game.
