Veszprém – Silkeborg pregame statements

Champions League continues for Telekom Veszprém on Saturday at 5PM. The Danish Bjerringbro-Silkeborg comes to visit the Hungarian record champion. Live broadcast on Sport1. We asked our head coach and 3 players about this upcoming challenge.

 

 

Xavi Sabaté: Silkeborg may not represent such a high level as our other opponents in the Champions League group, however they are here because they showed with their performance that they deserve to be here. They have a lot of excellent players even if their names are not so well-known yet. They started this season really well and they are getting better from time to time. I consider them dangerous and that is why we have to respect the Danish team. This is true for them but also for the other teams in the Champions League because all the teams are getting closer to each other, there is no big difference between them. Therefore, there are no easy matches in the CL series and that could be seen in the previous rounds, too.

 

 

Christian Ugalde: There will be a Champions League match again in the Veszprém Arena and of course we would like to win and perform well while trying to make people forget about what happened in Barcelona. Every point is very important to us and we cannot lose any. Silkeborg is a good team and they are in this CL group for a reason. Our team may be tired but we need to get over it and win on Saturday.

 

 

Andreas Nilsson: In this year’s Champions League every match is very hard to win and it will be the same in connection with Saturday’s match. I know this Danish team well, they have very good players in the team. Nevertheless, we want to play a good match and of course win. We need to give our best both in attack and defense. It is very important to get another 2 points and continues the fight for the best place in the group.

 

 

Ivan Sliskovic: One can say, according to the matches, that there are no easy games in the Champions League. It will not be easy against Silkeborg either, because it is a good team with great players. The Danish team has great results so far, defeating Plock with a great difference or Schaffhausen but Kiel had a hard time against them also. I expect a hard clash but for us only victory can be acceptable.
