Veszprém – PSG pregame statements

One of the biggest home clash is waiting for Telekom Veszprém, because our team is going to face with Paris Saint-Germain Handball in the Champions League this Saturday at 5 PM. The game will be broadcasted live by Sport1. Preparing for this match we asked the opinions of our head coach Xavi Sabaté and three players.

 

 

Xavi Sabaté: A huge clash is coming this Sunday. The PSG is one of the favorites not only to the Final4 but to win it also. They have the biggest budget in Europe which is a big difference. But handball is not only names but playing. I think they improved in all the lines. They signed Nielsen who is a great pivot and a great defender. They also signed Gensheimer who is a top player both in defense and attack. So I think they improved in all areas of the game and they are training with the same coach for a year now which is good because they now know the system better. But we are going to play at home and we hope that we will be able to recover some players. Together with our supporters we will fight and try to beat them.

 

 

Mirsad Terzic: Of course, against PSG it is always very hard, they are one of the biggest teams in this era. They are growing year by year and we have a big respect for them both individually and as a team. I think they are playing better than before but we believe in ourselves. Finally we play in Veszprém and though we did not play so great in the last times, but now we were able to fix some things and I think our time is coming. Our supporters are behind us even if we are not so good and we are very grateful for it. I would like to tell them that we are doing 100% but sometimes handball is like this, you lose some goals, you lose some games and you are not always that lucky. I think that with a little bit of belief and with a bit of help, this luck will come back to us. We can do it together.

 

 

Máté Lékai: We are waiting for this real derby against PSG very much. Paris is one of the best teams in the world and they are in a good form. They could beat Barcelona easily, but this is our court and I am sure that our supporters will understand how important this game is. I hope we can play well and play like we did last year against them.

 

 

Gasper Marguc: It will be a really-really tough match, a real clash against PSG, and they are in a very good form now. They could beat Barcelona with 7 goals. It shows how good they are but we are playing in our home Arena where nobody is the favorite but us. But we have to show our best this season in order to win this game.
