On Saturday at 5 pm MVM Veszprém is going to play its last group game in this Champiosn League season. We are going to face with Wisla Plock. The clash will be broadcasted live by Sport1. We asked head coach Xavi Sabaté, team captain László Nagy, Andreas Nilsson and Aron Palmarsson about this upcoming match.
Xavi Sabaté: It has been really hard to play against Plock during the whole season because of their game style. I think it will be a hard game but we have to keep going forward and preparing in order to reach our goals. The Polish team has excellent players, a strong defensive system and a great goalkeeper. I’m sure that my players will show how dedicated and humble we are to our team. Whether we play better or a bit worse, we always try to do our best; this is our most important characteristic. I know that it will be the same this time.
László Nagy: We are facing our last group round match and of course winning on home court is our aim. In the first round we lost one point in Plock and we will take it as an extra motivation; we want to take revenge. Plock will play without any pressure since this game will not influence anything. In the recent time we have had many good performances but I hope that we can still improve because we are facing three hard months. We have to keep our strengths and we should learn from our mistakes and I hope that we will give our best form when we will really need it.
Andreas Nilsson: Of course we want to win this Saturday but I feel that this game will be hard. It’s important for us to gain victory because if the game between PSG and Flensburg will end up according to our wishes, we might be group winners. Anyhow we have to perform well against Plock and gain victory. I think we can still improve, of course, but we play better and better. After the European Championship, our team has been worn out and we needed some time to recover but now we are on the best path again. We gained victory against Flensburg; we have to perform similarly this time.
Aron Palmarsson: I’m expecting a hard game against Plock. Last time we couldn’t perform as well as we had wanted. This weekend, however, we shouldn’t let that happen again, especially on home court. It’s important we win the game in order to keep our good form, our series of victories and the hope for group winning. I can say that we are becoming better week by week.
