Veszprém - Metalurg pregame statements

On Saturday at 6 PM the second half of the season is beginning. The Telekom Veszprém is going to host Metalurg Skopje in Veszprém Arena. The game is going to be broadcasted live by Digi Sport 1. We have asked head coach Xavi Sabaté and Péter Gulyás about this upcoming match.

 

Xavi Sabaté: The second part of the season begins, the period when we want to fight for trophies. In the first half year we had 40 games with 24 travels and several injuries. It was a tough period. I think, I could not ask more from the team, what they did. Regarding to all circumstances we had a good first half of season. Those players, who were not participating in the World Championship, were training here in Veszprém very hard and well leaded by the members of our coaching staff, Josep Espar, Csaba Tombor and Ivo Diaz who were daily contact with me. Our team is very motivated we will fight in every game, for every trophy. We will start this period tomorrow against Metalurg.

 

Péter Gulyás: A very hard first half season is behind us. All the teams were affected by the World Championship, some of them in a positive, while the others in a negative way. But the second part of the season is beginning now and I think, this is the main essence of the whole season. We must work very hard in order to achieve our goals. These first two games in this weekend will be very good opportunity to put the team together again and get into the best form until the big challenges waiting for us.
