Veszprém – Flensburg pregame statements

On Saturday at 5:30 pm the Telekom Veszprém is going to host the SG Flensburg-Handewitt in the last group match of the VLEUX EHF Champions League. The game will be broadcasted live by Sport1. We asked our head coach and three players about this very important upcoming match.

 

 

Xavi Sabaté: We are fighting for the 3rd position against one of the potential candidate for the Final4. We are expecting a very though match where for me the key is our defense as always. In attack we will try to avoid making too many technical mistakes and find the best chances to shoot because they have fast wings and a good goalkeeper who can pass the ball well to the fastbreak. They score a lot of fastbreak goals. For me it will be the key of the match.

 

 

Péter Gulyás: A very important game is waiting for us which will decide about the third place in the group, moreover our upcoming opponent is the another candidate for this position. The better place can be significant later in the eight- and hopefully in the quarter-final. The Flensburg has a very good defense, fast counter-attacks and they are very dangerous from the wings. We must prepare for these things very well if we want to win on Saturday.

 

 

Mirsad Terzic: It will be a direct fight for the 3rd place in the group on Saturday. Flensburg is in a very good phase and they are playing well. But we also play well. However we had a not so effective match in Schaffhausen but finally the points came to Veszprém and at this moment this is the most important. It will be a very hard game because they keep the rhythm for 60 minutes. We will try to play and run like they do. I hope that the points will stay again in Veszprém.

 

 

Cristian Ugalde: I hope we can win. Of course this is the most important thing now. We have to show that we can play better than we did in Schaffhausen. Our defense was not so good on that day. In Kiel we played very good and we won. We would like to continue like that. For now we have to reset and forget all the matches before because now comes the most important games of the season. Flensburg has to play well because they also need the victory if they want to be the third in the group. We must bring our best form if we want to beat them. This triumph would especially important for us before the best knockout round.
