Veszprém - Flensburg pregame statements

Before our Saturday home game in the Champions League, coach Javier Sabaté, co-captain Péter Gulyás, Mirsad Terzic and Andreas Nilsson shared their thoughts. The game will start at 5:30 pm and broadcasted live by Sport1.

 

 

The upcoming game is always the most important thing. Now the most important thing for us is to defeat the squad of the German Flensburg. Fans who are regularly following the Champions League with attention know that our next rival is a strong team. They have a firm defence system and they are good at fast breaks which really seem to be effective. But we are expected to win on home court.

 

 

Of course, we have been in such a difficult situation before. This is a hard one. The task of our players is to entirely concentrate on the match. Flensburg succeeded in the first round. We drew the conclusions and I’m sure that we will be able to gain triumph in this really hard game in front of our great fans.

 

 

The rival from the Bundesliga is an extremely strong team. Although they had some difficulties in their domestic championship, they easily defeated Paris in the Champions League. This is a warning sign. We have to be cautious during our offences. We should end our fast breaks with goals because Flensburg is going to offend immediately, like in the game against the French. We have to perform our best on home court. We have to win this very important clash with the help of our fans’ support.

 

 

We shouldn’t be concerned with the point we lost in Plock. We should look toward the future. Mostly, because we are facing a well-organized team, which is a great defender, fiery and fast. The confident victory over PSG proves that we are going to host a respectable opponent. I think, our team is really strong as well. Even if, we don’t play in our best form, we must win against the German team.
