Veszprém – Barca pregame statements

 

A Champions League clash will be played on Saturday, when Telekom Veszprém hosts Barca Lassa in the VELUX EHF Champions League. We asked our head coach and players about the upcoming CL game.

 

David Davis: It is always complicated against Barca, because they rarely lose by more than three goals. They always have really experienced players, who are always in the best shape. It is hard to beat them. They were playing excellently in the first half of the season. They are playing with a lot of confidence, and now they have a new signing who fits into the team perfectly. They are a competitive team and it was a long time ago since they won the Champions League, so they are hungry. We are playing at home, and I know that our Supporters are so hot to cheer for us and that is good. I want the Arena to work like a huge pressure cooker and put tremendous pressure on our opponent. We have time to prepare for the match and we will do it as best as we can. We are going to fight like them and more to beat them.

 

 

 

Máté Lékai: We start the Champions League once again, Barcelona comes, who leads this group and is one of the favorites in the CL. They are after the World Championship, so we are, both teams has injured player but I think that Veszprém – Barcelona is always a special game. I am really looking forward to it, and I hope and know that the atmosphere will be as great as always. We will do everything to win and there is no other goal in front of us.

 

 

Andreas Nilsson: We prepare for them with a lot of training. Lot of videos and tactical trainings. Of course, we will need good defense and goalkeeping to be able to get some counter attacks on them. This is the winning concept. They are on the top of the group and play really good. We are going to have to fight a lot, but we have the advantage of home court so hopefully we can win the game.

 

Petar Nenadic: I expect a hard game. We know that they play maybe the best handball in this moment and they only have one lost game in the Champions League. It is an important game for us. After almost two months break, it is always hard to play. We know that the team, which will make less technical mistakes, will win the game. It is that simple.
