Veszpém in Super Globe

The team of Veszprém is going to take part in the Super Globe traditionally held in Qatar which is considered to be the unofficial World Championship of the club teams. Our team won the right to participate by gaining the second place of the previous Champions League. The prestigious tournament is going to be held on September 7-10.

 

 

Eight tems are included in the tournament in Doha.

Europe will be represented by the title defender Barcelona; the other most successful team of the Champions League, Veszprém; and the Füchse Berlin as the winner of EHF Cup.

Asia will be represented by Al-Sadd as host team and the current champion of the continent, Lekhwiya SC (Qatar).

Africa will send Club Africain (Tunisia), Sydney University from Oceania (Australia), while America will send Taubaté (Brasil).

 

There will not be any group rounds, the tournament will only be based on a knock-out system. The quarter-finals will be held on the first day, the semi-finals on the second day. Then, there will be a break on the third day. Final will take place on the last day.

 

The draw of the quarter-final matchups will happen later.
