Vardar – Veszprém pregame statements

 

HC Vardar hosts Telekom Veszprém on Saturday in the VELUX EHF Champions League in the Match of the Week. We asked our head coach and players about the upcoming clash.

 

David Davis: I expect a great match. It is going to be really good for me because I had good feelings and even better memories from Skopje, also my family had. The atmosphere is going to be fantastic because in Skopje the fans are almost like here in Veszprém. They help the team and they know how important that game is for the second place in the group. The players are motivated and I expect a great game. I am happy because I arrive with a good team; we are in a very good moment. It is going to be so hard, but so beautiful at the same time. 

 

 

László Nagy: It is never easy to play in Skopje. Vardar, regardless of its difficulties, still performs like they did in the last few years. Despite having financial problems and changing head coach over the summer, they are still in the top spots of our group. We have to arrive there well prepared and playing well to steal some points from away.

 

 

Dragan Gajic: It is going to be an interesting and good game, because we have a similar system. There are no secrets between the teams and players. It is going to be a quality match, which deserves Match of the Week title. This game will probably decide the positions in our group. We go there to win, and because they took the points from Veszprém, we are looking to take those back!

 

Manuel Strlek: It will be a hard game. They are one of the best teams in the Champions League in the last few years. When they play at home, they are really strong in front of their own fans. It is going to be hard, but we showed against Barcelona that we can play really good handball. We will have our chances and we will try to win.
