Dinamo Bucharest went through a big transformation in the summer: they have signed Xavi Pascual from Barca, who won 60 (!) trophies in 12 seasons as the head coach of the Spanish team. In the meantime, Cedric Sorhaindo, Alex Pascual (Barca), Christian Dissinger (HC Vardar), Dan Racotea (Bidasoa Irun), Kamel Alouini (Al Nasr), Ahmed Khairy and Robert Militaru (SCA Steaua Bucharest), Raul Nantes (CSM Bucharest) and Calin Dedu (SCM Politechnica Timisoara) have joined the club, while Ante Kuduz (HC Vardar), Alexandru Asoltanei, Tudor Botea, András Szász (CSM Bucharest), Dragos Hantaru (CSA Steaua Bucharest), Stefan Vujic (SC Minaur Baia Mare), Rome Hebo and Jakov Vrankovic have left, while Dan Savenco has retired.
Dinamo Bucharest is still undefeated in the domestic league after 8 rounds, however, in the Champions League they only won one game, against Kielce in the first round. Since then, they lost to PSG (30-41), Porto (26-27), Barca (32-36) and Motor (27-28).
Telekom Veszprém has also won all 6 of its 6 games in the K&H league, they have defeated Komló (39-24), Csurgó (34-21), FTC (30-27), Veszprém (37-25), KTE (42-24) and Balatonfüred (36-29) too. In the EHF Champions League Momir Ilic’s side have defeated PSG (34-31), Barca (29-28) and Flensburg (28-23) at home, Porto (30-23) away, and only lost to Kielce (29-32) in Poland.
The referees of Thursday’s game are Nenad Nikolic and Dusan Stojkovic from Serbia.
