In the sixth round of the Velux EHF Champions League the MKB-MVM Veszprém again played against Vardar Skopje but this time in Veszprém, in the "City of Queens". The home team won a great victory over the Macedonians and this was a big step towards the first place within the group.

Chekhovskie Medvedi - Montpellier Agglomeration HB 33:34 (17:16)
The French team arrived to Russia planning to get more scores than last week, since it was a drawn game then. Whereas the Russian team rightly hoped to obtain their first victory, because of their performance in the previous round. The two teams continued where they stopped before. The home team was leaded by the Dereven-Zhitnikov duo, and the visitor team by the Gajic-Simonet doubles. The former duo closed the match with 18, the latter with 21 goals. Neither of the teams could gain a difference of more than three scores which means that it was a close fight. They started the last minute with the same number of scores but then the Russians made a fatal mistake: they lost the ball and this mistake was punished by the game-winner goal of Simonet.

RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko – Rhein-Neckar Löwen 32:28 (16:11)
The Celje was near to the same bravura in Mannheim as the Medvedi did with its scoring in Russia. So the Slovenians confidently waited the rematch against the Löwen. After the first 15 minutes the home team became stronger with the leading of David Miklavcic and Miha Zarabec. The guests missed many good opportunities and the Celje kept punishing their mistakes with easy goals. At half-time the home team had an advantage of five goals. In the second half the Löwen still couldn't improve its performance. Due to the many balls they have lost the advantage of the Slovenians increased on seven goals. Mads Mensah and Uwe Gensheimer tried to inspire the Germans but it was only enough to reduce the goal-difference.
