We are going to summarize the games of Telekom Veszprém’s international players from the last week.
Hungary:
Gábor Ancsin, Máté Lékai, Patrik Ligetvári, Roland Mikler, Timuzsin Schuch
The Hungarian handball team held its training camp in Siófok last week, where they took part in a 3-team tournament in the brand new Kiss Szilárd Sports Hall. Besides the host nation, Austria and Brazil participated. The Hungarian team, still in formation, won both games confidently and finished the tournament first. The Veszprém players did well, scored great goals or played well in the defense. They played against Austria on Friday and Gábor Ancsin scored 4 times, while Lékai and Ligetvári scored 2 goals each. Meanwhile Schuch and Mikler directed the defense. In the end the result was a 33:22, eleven goals win. On Sunday, the team of Ljubomir Vranjes faced Brazil, and won by 8 goals. Ancsin and Ligetvári scored 1 goals each while Lékai scored 7 times. Schuch played in the middle of the defense while Mikler did not get a chance tomorrow, Márton Székely from Tatabánya saved the whole game.
Macedonia:
Dejan Manaskov
Our fast left wing and the Macedonian national team played only one international game last week. They hosted Russia in Skopje for a friendly game. The game did not end in the favor of Macedonia as they suffered a 27:32 loss. Manaskov scored 5 goals and was suspended for 2 minutes once.
Norway:
Kent Robin Tonnesen
Our right back played in the Gjensidige Cup in Norway with his national team, in the Golden League series. They faced the usual 3 teams, Iceland, France and Denmark. On Friday, they played against Iceland and they managed to win 31:29. Kent scored 5 times. On Saturday, they faced the world champion France and achieved a draw. Kent played well here too, he scored 6 goals. For closing, they played against Olympic champion Denmark and ran into a bigger defeat. The result was 23:33 for Denmark. Our player played well here as well, despite the worse performance of his national team. He scored 4 goals against Denmark, which means that he scored 15 times in 3 games. This earned him a spot in the dream team of the competition, which was well deserved.
Sweden:
Andreas Nilsson
The Swedish national team, with Andreas Nilsson in the line-up played two friendly games against Croatia. On Thursday, Sweden beat them 32:25, with Andreas scoring 6 times and earning the best player of the game. After this, on Saturday, they lost by one goal, and the line player of Veszprém did not play.
Slovenia:
Blaz Blagotinsek, Gasper Marguc
The bronze medalist of the world championship started its preparations for the upcoming World Championship Qualifiers against Hungary. For this, they played 2 intense games against Belarus in Slovenia. The two sides met on 7 April for the first time and Slovenia won 34:29. Blagotinsek scored 1 while Marguc scored 2. The next day came the second game, where our neighbors won yet again, this time it was 27:23. Blagotinsek scored 4 goals, while Gasper Marguc did not step on court.
Bosnia and Herzegovina:
Mirsad Terzic
Terzic and the Bosnian national team met Montenegro for a friendly game. Bosnia did not came out well on this match, as they lost in away 21:18. “Terza” scored 3 goals, with 2 being out of penalties.
The players of Telekom Veszprém are preparing together under the instructions of Ljubomir Vranjes. They will host Budakalász tomorrow, while on the weekend they will play in the Final 4 of the Hungarian Cup in Debrecen.
