Semi-final group round matches of the European Championship have begun. On Thursday two games of the first group were held; both of them ended with glorious victories. Practically, France won over Belarus in the first half so they could let themselves be less focused in the second half. The Croatian team gained a confident victory over Macedonia to which Ivan Sliskovic – as the most productive player of his team – contributed with 6 goals, while Mirko Alilovic with 11 savings (37% effectiveness).

In the second round, Germany gained a 10-goal victory against Hungary on Friday. In the Hungarian team László Nagy from MVM Veszprém scored 3 goals. In the other match, Sweden and Russia had been playing equally which resulted in a draw (28:28). Andreas Nilsson scored once for the Nordic team.

On Saturday the game between France and Croatia was held. The match was ended with the surprisingly big 8-goal triumph of the team of Karabatic; Omeyer contributed to the victory with 16 saves and even a
full-coart goal. In the Croatian team Sliskovic ended up with 6 goals, while Alilovic with 7 saves. The second game also ended with an unexpected result since the excellent team of Poland suffered defeat by Norway in front of 14600 spectators in Krakow.
