The Egyptian „golden boy” in Telekom Veszprém

Our club signed a two-year contract with Egyptian international playmaker and left-back, Yehia El-Deraa. He will be joining Telekom Veszprém next season.

Yehia El-Deraa, who is Omar Yahia’s teammate in the Egyptian national team, is a 4th place Olympics placeholder, multiple African Champions League winner with Zamalek and in 2020, Yehia became the competition’s MVP. Despite the young age of 26, Yehia is uncomplicated and predicting in defence; In attack he is dangerous from distance as well as creative and combinative, when supplying the pivot with assists.

Yehia El-Deraa is a real „bombing expert”, with a positive connotation. During the Super Cup competition in October, he scored 6 goals against Barcelona. During the Tokyo Olympics, he scored 22 goals in 8 matches and he was one of the leading figures of his national side, playing a huge part in Egypt’s historic success.

Yehia El-Deraa and Omar Yahia have been playing together in the Egyptian national team for 5 years; their strong connection on the pitch will be a real asset for our club in the future. The Egyptian “golden boy” - how he is called back home – is at the perfect age at 26, to make a step up in his career and having signed a 2-year contract, he will be strengthening our club from next season.
