Last weekend MVM Veszprém gained a confident victory against Beksitas (33:25) and the big rivals of our group also ended the round with a victory. Despite of that, the team of ‘Bakony’ is still in the first place in the “A” group before Kiel and Paris.
Wisla Plock (POL) - THW Kiel (GER) 23:37 (8:18)
On Saturday Wisla Plock hosted the team of Kiel. In Poland each team had been suffering so far but the game against the German champion turned out to be different. Since the CL game against Rhein-Neckar Löwen in 2008, Plock has never finished a game with a 10-goal difference.
This outstanding achievement surprised even the coach of the guest team, Alfred Gislason who had expected a tight match. He says that this was their best game in this season. Besides, he was really satisfied with their goalkeeper, Niklas Landin’s performance. Thanks to Landin, the home team was able to score their first goal only in the 9th minute. Canellas also performed great in the first half and scored 6 goals.
In the second half, Plock still was not in good form, their substitutions did not helped, either.
Scorers:
Plock: Daszek és Nikcevic 4-4, Tarabochia és Zhitnikov 3-3, Ghionea, Piechowski és Zelenovic 2-2, Konitz, Montoro és Wisniewski 1-1
Kiel: Canellas 10, Vujin 7, Ekberg 5, Dahmke, Dissinger és Toft Hansen 3-3, Duvnjak és Mamelund 2-2, Sprenger és Weinhold 1-1
SG Flensburg-Handewitt (GER) - RK Celje (SLO) 30:20 (13:10)
Flensburg began the game with a 7:3-lead which was followed by an 11:4-lead. Then, Celje managed to close up before the break.
The German team, however, started the second half of the game confidently. Mattias Anderson ended the match with 21 saves, while Anders Eggert enhanced his team with his 8 goals. They were able to keep their 23:17-lead, and the Slovenian team was still unable to score. They ended the game with a 10-goal difference.
Scorers:
Flensburg: Eggert 8, Glandorf 5, Toft Hansen 4, Mogensen és Svan 3-3, Djordjic, Mahe és Radivojevic 2-2, Gottfridsson 1
Celje: Ivic 4, Fizuletto és Janc 3-3, Blagotinsek, Kodrin, Mlakar és Razgor 2-2, Marguc és Zvizej 1-1
PSG Handball (FRA) - RK Zagreb (CRO) 34:23 (18:8)
PPD Zagreb seems to be playing different in an away game. While they are considered to be dangerous in the Croatian capital, last weekend they suffered a surprisingly big defeat in Paris.
The French team led by Mikkel Hansen made it clear that they will end the game with a victory. The Croatian team was not able to show a strong offence as if they really had respected the French defensive wall. They took a 10:7-lead and ended the first half with a 10-goal difference.
In the second part, the French team slowed down a little bit so Zagreb could close up, but finally the players of PSG gained an 11-goal victory.
Scorers:
PSG: Hansen 10, N. Karabatic 7, M'tima 4, Abalo, Barachet, Kounkoud, Jensen és Vori 2-2, L. Karabatic, Melic és Narcisse 1-1
Zagreb: Kovacevic 5, Pavlovic 4, Obranovic és Rakovic 3-3, Stepancic 2, Horvat, Kontrec, Sebetic, Sprem, Susnja és Vujic 1-1
