As you all may already know, last Saturday MVM Veszprém gained glorious victory over Zagreb (
21:20). The team took over and got the first place in the “A” group as the only undefeated team. In the following, you can read a short summary of the other games.
Besiktas JK (TUR) - Paris Saint-Germain Handball (FRA) 30:40 (17:21)
Our former opponent team hosted the team of PSG and they tried to do their best with the leadership of Ramazan Done and ended the first half with a 4-goal difference.
In the second half, PSG was even more productive; Mikkel Hansen was especially unstoppable (10 goals out of 11 shots) and the score board showed an 8-goal difference for the guest team. The team of Paris was continuously scoring so the home team was not able to catch up. In spite of the 10-goal difference in the end, the home team has nothing to be ashamed of because they clashed with a much stronger rival.

THW Kiel (GER) - SG Flensburg-Handewitt (GER) 27:23 (14:13)
The German derby was held in Kiel which hosted Flensburg. The home team did not have a good start because the pivot player Patrick Wiencek got injured in the 15th minute (he might have to be absent for six months), moreover their goalkeeper Möller performed great. Then, the goalkeeper of the home players seemed to be strengthened. In the 25th minute Niklas Landin was replaced by Nikolas Katsigiannis and ended the game with 14 saves. Although the team of Ljubomir Vranjes performed better in the beginning, the first half ended with a 1-goal lead of the home team.
In the second half, Flensburg tied to end the game with a tie (21:21) but the players of Kiel did not let the victory slip through their fingers.
According to the coach of the home team Alfred Gislason, the match was an excellent marketing for handball, while Coach Vranjes added how proud he is because his team worked really hard even if they were defeated in Veszprém and Kiel. He highlighted that they still have to concentrate on the home games, gain points and improve constantly.

RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko (SLO) - Orlen Wisla Plock (POL) 25:28 (10:17)
The Polish team had a great achievement in the first half; their offences were really effective and dominated the first half which ended with a 7-goal difference. In the squad of Plock Rodrigo Corrales performed great as well as Dmitry Zhitnikov who turned out to be unstoppable.
In the second part of the match, the Slovenian team did everything possible for the victory but they only were able to catch up to 2-goal difference.
