Lékai came for the second half and scored a goal quickly, meanwhile in the Vác Törteli played efficiently. The two goalkeepers did not save well, in the 40. minute the guest coach took his second timeout (29-17). After this, Vác scored 3 goals in a row, but Nilsson made the result to 30-20 with his fifth goal at the half of the second half. Even Moraes scored beautiful goals from the pivote position and Melnyicsuk scored his first goal 10 minutes before the end. In the endgame Székely saved some shots and the distance was increasing between the two team. Veszprém changed in a rookie player, Bodor, who debuted with a nice goal. The 40. home goal was scored by Gajic and Székely closed the match with a big save.
David Davis: I would like to welcome Vác in the Hungarian league. About the game; it is hard to manage this many players. I have to find seven that is fully motivated and concentrated to play the match. Last season was difficult, but this season we do an excellent job with respecting the opponent of course. We prepared accordingly. Today we could try 6-0 and 5-1 defense as well. The most important is to not go for how many goals we score but to run, get as few goals as possible and to prepare things that can be useful in the future. I hope Vác will be luckier this season and will stay in the Hungarian league. In conclusion, I am satisfied with my players.
Márton Székely: Many thanks to Vác for a fair game. Like my coach said, these game are perfect to practice every game variation in offense and defense, today we practiced the 5+1 style defense. Next week 2 Seha League games are coming and also the Champions League will start soon, so we have to look forward. Good luck to Vác in the future.
László Skaliczki: Congratulations to Veszprém, it is visible that they are in a good way, and we could get the taste of it today. It was a huge step for us. About my team; we had some good things, but we gave too big of a space without ball against the open defense. We should have given more in one-on-one situations and arriving into the free space without ball. We had the spaces but Veszprém’s pressure made us take bad choices. We could not solve it, but I wanted more in this aspect. In defense, we should have secured the places around the line players, but when someone this size gets the ball, there is nothing you can do really. From this, we drew suspensions and it is suicide against a team like Veszprém. I am happy that we did not concede 50 goals. I also have a missing feeling about the synergy of the team. I feel like some of my players spared the energy today and did not give everything. The winner always has a new plan, while the loser always have an excuse. I do not want to seek excuses; I would rather be a coach of a winning team. This is what we work on. Good luck to Veszprém in all three competitions.
Koppány Törteli: Congratulation to Veszprém, I wish them good luck in the future for their tasks. We are coming from a 8 weeks long preparation, for us the season starts now. Our coach asked from us to do everything that we can, because what is working now, will work in the future against other teams as well. It is always hard to play here in Veszprém, especially against the huge pivot players. It was an exhausting game, we did everything and I am happy that we did not lose by 20 goals.
