Telekom Veszprém – Sport36-Komló 39:24

Telekom Veszprém hosted Komló on its first Hungarian Leauge game. The home team started the game, but after a Blagotinsek’s miss Komló got the lead. After two goals guest lead and a Blagotinsek 2 minutes suspension Veszprém tied the game (6. min 3-3). Komló used well another powerplay ran away by 2 goals, but it did not take long because Építők equalised, then with Dörnyei’s goal got the lead again (13. min 7-6). At the middle of the half came the refreshing changes from the bench, on the scoreboard the result was a draw (10-10). Veszprém raised the tempo and reached a 3 goals lead, so the guest coach called a timeout (23. min 14-11). After a tough foul and complaining Nenadic got 4 minutes suspension. Cupara showed a nice save and scored an empty net goal directly (16-15). With Ilic’s buzzer beater goal the teams went to the break with a one goal Veszprém lead.

In the beginning of the first half used a powerplay Veszprém had a 4 goals lead (35. min 22-18). Cupara saved very well in the second half, saved a penalty, too, in attack Lékai was on fire. In 10 minutes Komló could score only one goal, that was why they called another timeout (25-18). After a nice air assist Maqueda scored and increased the home lead to 8 goals. With Ligetvári’s huge goal there was 10 goals difference between the teams (49. min 31-21). Cupara showed an extraordinary performance, in 20 minutes he conceeded only 3 goals and saved 3 penalties. In the endgame all the young players got opportunity to play and they showed many nice moves. The crowd could cheer on a confident home victory.

First of all congrats to Veszprém. It was a deserved victory. Although we played well and concentrated in the first half, we scored a lot of goal. But it was a two-faced game. In the second half we could see the difference of the two team. We made some mistakes, and the Veszprém team lead with 10 goals. I am really happy with we can made a real test before our K&H League’s important matches. Next we start the Hungarian league, and we would like to get points and victories. I wish all the best for Veszprém team.

Congratulation to Veszprém, they played well. We only played very well in the first half, then we ran out the power in head and physically, too. It was a perfect game to prepare ourselves for the upcoming match.

Congratulation to our guest, and of course when we speak about different half times were today, but Cupara said, as I also to them I wasn’t satisfied with the first half, first of all the attitude, some situation we play. The second half was much better and we did what we spoe in the half time. That’s why I am satisfied but like this we have to continue and make one step more. This step which everybody await us on Friday in SEHA League semi-final.
