Telekom Veszprém - RK Nexe

On the second leg of the Seha League quarterfinal Telekom Veszprém hosted Nexe in 2 goals advantage. Építők in red jersey started the game and Mahé scored first from a penalty. After two missed attack Blagotinsek scored, then Yahia went through the defense (8. min 3-2). Cupara was the starting goalkeeper and he showed big saves from the beginning. Reaching the middle of the half Mahé and Maqueda changed Lékai and Yahia in 3 goals lead (8-5). Mahé scored two brilliant goals, Nexe called a timeout (20. min 11-7). The goalies were very good on both side, mostly from the wings, but they saved 1-1 penalty, too. In the endgame of the first half Ilic called a timeout, because the attacks were less efficient. For the break Építők got a 4 goals lead.

 

In the second half Marguc scored first, then Nenadic did not miss his penalty. Nenadic was also on the court, so Veszprém played with two playmakers (38. min 19-14). In the beginning of the second half a lot of goals were scored, Marguc scored five nice goals in 10 minutes. After a stolen ball Sipos scored his first goal in front of the home crowd. Nexe could keep the halftime difference, the Croatian youngsters fought hard. Cupara saved clear chances and a penalty in important moments. Veszprém made big chances for themselves, but they could not finish them with goals (50. min 24-20). Thanks to the defence and the goalkeeper the home team could keep their safe lead, but Ilic was not satisfied, so he called his second timeout 6 minutes before the final whistle. At the end Veszprém won confidently and qualified to the Final Four in Zadar.

I would like to congratulate to both teams, we fought well, but we made many mistakes. But against such a good team like Veszprém it is normal. I wish good luck to Veszprém for the Final Four.

I would like to congratulate to RK Nexe. They were good. Also we were good, they push us a lot. I am satisfied with our improve from the first match. It was nearly oposit from than in Nasice. We have to improve in a lot of things, but we go to Zadar, in to the semi final. It was our first match in Veszprém Aréna, so it was a pleasure to play here.
