Telekom Veszprém hosted Orosháza on a Hungarian League game. The guests started the game, but the first goal was scored by Lauge. Two clear home chances were missed and Orosháza scored their first goal after 4 minutes. The home defense and Corrales also was very good, so Manaskov could score easy fastbreak goals. After 15 minutes on the scoreboard showed 9-4. Orosháza fought and their could keep the 5 goals difference (22. min 11-6). After some Veszprém mistakes the guests came closer to 2 goals (12-10). There was not a big tempo, only Manaskov was on fire with a lot of goals. For the break the five goals difference was recovered.
 
The second half started with quick Veszprém’s goals despite of the fact that Orosháza tried to make slower the game. The guests’ Turkish goalkeeper saved brilliantly. But Lauge often found the hole on the wall and scored many goals. For the last 20 minutes Székely came to the goal at 8 goals Veszprém leading (24-16). Had to wait for the 45. minute for the 10 goals difference (27-17). Veszprém changed the defense to 5:1 and Orosháza could not get through it. In offense the two wing players Strlek and Marguc scored the majority of the goals. 8 minutes to go Orosháza called their last timeout because of the lot of empty net goals (32-18). For the end the crowd could see an easy Veszprém win.
 

David Davis: In the first half, we tried different defensive styles, but 5-1 did not work as good as I hoped. The second period was better, although we missed a lot of clear chances; we have to play with more concentration. I am satisfied with the result, and the preformance of the goalkeepers. Márton Székely went in with confidence. It was a long time ago that he played, but I hope, as the championships are getting more tough, he will get more playing time.
 
Márton Székely: We thank the correct and fair game to Orosháza. Today the most important things were the defending formats. We were practicing the 5:1 format on the trainings, now we tested in action. The guys worked very well in front of me. I hope we can improve these variations. I wish good luck for Orosháza and I hope they can play with a full squad as soon as possible.

 

 
Ratko Djurkovic: Congratulations to Veszprém. Unfortunately we have a lot of problems, and we were missing three players today as well. We wanted to avoid getting even more injuries today. I saw some great plays today, and we managed to lead pretty offense as well sometimes. Even though we lost by a lot of goals, I am proud of my team, and I am satisfied with their performance.
 
Károly Tóth: I think, in the first half was a flattering result for us. We tried to play slowly, to not conceed too many goals. We had to use an opened defense, but against Veszprém it did not work at all. I hope, against other teams it will. We missed a lot of players and we ran out for the end.
