The second home game in the Seha Leauge Építők played against Meshkov Brest. The guest team started the game and scored a nice goal and a penalty. The first home goal was scored by Moraes, then Strlek equalised. Both team scored easy goals and Tönnesen made the result to 5-5 in the beginning of the 8. minute. Veszprém’s defense did not work well and Brest ran away with 3 goals. Vailupau scored 8 goals from the 9 Brest’s goals. In the middle of the first half the guest coach took a timeout at 7-9. Strlek got 2 minutes suspension, but Lauge scored. Veszprém caught the guest team at 9-9 with Strlek’s goal. Székely started to save many shots, so Veszprém could turn easily the game (22. min 12-9). The home defense became harder, Terzic a bit tougher, so he got 2 minutes suspension. In the break Veszprém led by 4 goals.

 

The second part of the game started with a Moraes mistake and a Brest goal, then Marguc scored from the wing. At 18-15 Terzic got a 2 minutes suspension again, but Veszprém scored two goals (39. min 20-15). The guests’s right back was the man of the match, he scored 10 goals until this period. In Veszprém Strlek played efficently. Reached the 45. minute Veszprém led by 24-19. Nenadic and Lékai were on the court at the same time and Veszprém scored nice goals. 10 minutes before the end Strlek scored his 7. goal after a beautiful combination. Lékai also scored and changed the result to 28-21. The 30. Veszprém goal was scored by Nilsson after a great Nenadic assist. Veszprém won the game, the final score is 32-23.

 

 

David Davis: It was a very complicated match for us both as a team, as a club and as for me personally. We started a bit nervously but then everything was good and the players were playing on their level again today. I hope that from now on we will start winning games once again. I am not always talking about our supporters but their support is very important for us and they have to be there so we can become as great as a team as we want to be.

 

Gasper Marguc: It was an important win for the team, for the club, for the fans. We wanted to have this feeling. We have to continue the improvement and we will reach the level, that we want to be on.

 

 

Andrei Mochalov: Congratulations to Veszprém for the victory! We had lot of complications before this game and we arrived here mainly with young players who were only spectators when we first played against Veszprém in this season. We tried to play the best way possible and I think it was not an easy win for Veszprém. Thank you again for the hospitality and congratulations once again to Veszprém.

 

Alexander Bachko: It is a big challenge to play here, we knew, that we had to give our best. I think I am an experienced player, so I tried to be on court for the whole game and to help my team. The first 45 minutes were close, I am very proud of my team and the young players. Congratulation to Veszprém.
