To the proposal of the American Cancer Society and a pharmaceutical company October became the month of the battle against breast cancer 31 years ago. Campaigns call attention to the prevention and regular examination all over the world because if the illness is caught in time it is 90% curable.
Many teams and athletes stand by this great cause. The most well-known is probably the National Football League (NFL) where players wear pink accessories (shoes, socks, towels, hats etc.) during the month. The editors of the Hungarian Steelers.hu announced their charity campaign for the 7th year in a row, based on the NFL.
The handball team of Veszprém will participate in the Pink October campaign for the 3rd year in a row. Last year our players wore pink t-shirts during warm up while two years ago they wore pink socks. This season the team will encourage the Supporters to stand by the fight against cancer in pink t-shirts and wristbands.
Our Fans will be able to buy these items in our shop and webshop. The t-shirts will be 4000 HUF while the wristbands will go for 2000 HUF and all the income will be donated to the Hungarian League Against Cancer. It means that our Supporters will not only be able to buy a pink hummel products with a Veszprém logo but will also be able to support the fight against breast cancer.
Our two main sponsors, Hungarian Telekom and LV Sport exclusive distributor of hummel in Hungary, will be our partners in this campaign. The sport goods distributor will grant half of the products to sell for good will while our name sponsor will buy further t-shirts and wristbands in the value of 1.000.000 HUF which will be sold in our fan shop as well. The amount of money from the sale will be donated completely to the Hungarian League Against Cancer.
If anyone would like to support the fight against breast cancer in money form, please send your donations to the account of the Hungarian League Against Cancer (account number: 12001008-00102329-00100000 (Raiffeisen Bank)). Please write “NFL” and “Veszprém” in the remarks.
We would like to thank our Fans and players for supporting this great cause!
