The game started with Kent Robin Tonnesen’s three straight goals, while the first goal of Budakalász came in the fourth minute. In the eighth minute, the result was already 6:1. The second guest goal happened in the tenth minute of the game. Mirsad Terzic scored one in the thirteenth minute and made it 8:4. The standing in the fifteenth minute was 10:4, while 12:5 in the twentieth. Manuel Strlek scored a beautiful goal yet again, which made a 17:5 game. The guest team is a bit weak in attack, as almost all of their attacks die in passive play. In the twenty-ninth minute Veszprém took ten goals lead for the first time which increased to eleven until the end of the half. The result in half time is 18:7.
The second half started with a Szuharev block, and immediately after that he scored his first goal at the first team. A minute later Blaz Blagotinsek scored his 200th goal in Veszpérm jersey. The guest head coach had to call time out in the thirty-fifth minute after his team conceded easy fastbreak goals. The score at that time was 21:8. In the fifty-second minute our other youngster stepped on court, Kristóf Palasics who saved many balls. Budakalász’s exhaustion made them make mistakes in attack, which led to easy goals for Veszprém. The final result is a 36:17 victory for Telekom Veszprém.
David Davis: We wanted to make the team feel the game again. We wanted to share the time on court in balance. Youngsters got a chance who work hard, like Bence Szűcs and Lev Szuharev. Lev is very determined and I hope it will bring success to him. We are trying to catch the rhythm again. This is the most complicated month. We respected our opponent; if it is ten goals then it is what it is. I am satisfied with the job of the team.
Lev Szuharev: Congratulations to Budakalász and thank you for the time on the court for the coach. It is a great feeling to be on the same court with these players, they are very helpful. We played a great game. Roland Mikler performed well and then Kristóf Palasics saved well also. I am happy for him. I feel very good, thank you.
Gyula Forgács: Congratulations to Veszprém. It was obvious that they are going to be an easy win for them. We wanted to survive this game to not gain more injured players, because we already have a lot of that. I tried to give some playing time to the youngsters but this is another dimension. We did not even had a goal to stay under ten goals. I told them to not look at the scoreboard, just play. It was tough that we did not have a left handed back. We wanted to play around the line player and we managed to that. Of course, we made mistakes and it is not acceptable against a team like this. It is hard to play like this, when your team is weaker and also you are faced with a kind of referee thinking which respects Veszprém too much. Only the referees did a worse job than us.
Ádám Tóth: I cannot say any more than my coach. It was good for practicing and it is always a great experience to play in Veszprém. Our goals are not the same. Today’s game was good to practice smaller elements, which if works here, will definitely work on our level.
