Telekom Veszprém hosted Budakalász on the first Hungarian Leauge game. The first goal was scored by Manaskov, which followed by two Budakalász goals. With Marguc’s second goal the home lead increased to 3 goals (7. min 5-2). The two goalkeepers started the game very well, in the home goal Corrales performed brilliantly. Yahia scored confidently his penalties, but for the middle of the half the guest team came back by one goal. Veszprém played with a lot of mistakes, so Davis called a timeout in the 20. minute (9-8). Nenadic got 2 minutes suspension for speaking. Reaching the end of the half the standing was close, because of the fightful guests. For the break the difference was 4 goals
 
The home team pushed the beginning of the second half. Both coaches rotated their team, while Veszprém was taking big advantage (40. min 23-16). In the goal was still Cupara and performed well, but in offense Lékai made many technical fouls. For the second part of the half Székely came to the goal. Borozan scored a beautiful goal from an air pass. Yahia scored the 30. Veszprém’s goal, with that the advantage was 10 goals in the 48. minute. The difference was growing, it was a dozen 10 minutes to go. At the end the fans could see an easy Veszprém win.

 

David Davis: Thank you Budakalász for letting us play this game today and thank you Mr. Csoknyai for being helpful every year about this. I was satisfied with defense in the first half, but there were a lot of missed situations. Of course, the opponent's goalkeeper did a great job, but we should have scored from at least half of our chances. Our goalkeepers saved well today also and Yahia sitting next to me showed that he is in great shape. Good luck to Budakalász.
 
Omar Yahia: First of all congratulation to Budakalász for the game. They played good in the first half. Thanks to the teammates also, we should have played like this in the preseason. We could show today what we practiced day by day on the trainings. I hope we can win on the upcoming matches.

 

 
István Csoknyai: Congratulations to Veszprém. They won a well-deserved victory with disciplined play. I think that we could keep up with the pace that Veszprém dictated for 30-40 minutes, we tried to stay on them. Tamás Boros saved well, although we have received 36 goals, which shows the lack of tightness in our defense. Next week we will visit Szeged, where I expect a similar match. Good luck to Veszprém in the future.
 
Tamás Boros: Congratulation to Veszprém. We played a really good game, until we had power, more or less for 40 minutes. We fought fair, we played what we know. We try to get points on the following games.
