Xavi Sabaté, Telekom Veszprém’s head coach: I congratulate Balatonfüred’s team and their Coach because they played really great today. I think that in the first half Nándi (Fazekas) saved fantastically and that was the biggest difference between the two teams. This is the third week since we started to train but of course it is not an excuse because we all knew when the first match was. I also think that it would not be the best if the team had given 100% because we just started to train. In the second half regardless the big difference, the team pull itself together. We played really well and Roland Mikler also saved well. It was a hard game but the season just started. The fans could see a match which was tight and exciting. I congratulate my team because we have a lot of work behind us, we trained well and now the most important thing is to prepare well for the season because it will be very hard and there will be a lot of matches in it.

 

Timuzsin Schuch, Telekom Veszprém’s pivot: I would like to congratulate Füred because they played sensationally today and they made our game harder. Nándi Fazekas saved really great during the whole game. In the first half, our game was not the best and everybody felt that we are at the beginning of the season. We have to improve a lot both in defense and attack but this is the reality to get better during the season. Roli Mikler saved really great and our defense got better in the second half so we could make the result better. Who defends well can get a lot of fast break goals. I congratulate Balatonfüred one more time and I think that if they provide such a good performance then they will have a good chance in the championship to get a medal.

 

 

István Csoknyai, Balatonfüredi KSE’s head coach: I congratulate the home team. I think that they managed to reach their goal which was to keep the two points at home. Our team also deserves congratulation because it consists of young players and they tried their best. Nándi Fazekas saved great. It can be felt that both teams are still in the preparation period and maybe we had better chance because we started training earlier while Veszprém came back after a very hard work recently. As for my team I put emphasis on the defense and Nándi completed that. Everybody is dreaming of victory in the Veszprém Arena but of course this is not the reality.

 

Nándor Fazekas, Balatonfüredi KSE’s goalkeeper: It was a realistic result; the difference is about that much between the two teams. I am just kidding (he laughs). However, I am happy that we could play such a tight match during the middle of the preparation period. I am glad that we could do everything what the Coach asked from us. I think that we do not have to win in Veszprém, although that is what everybody wants but it is probably not realistic for anyone currently in Europe. I believe that we are on the right track to reach a good result in the championship.
