Szeged – Veszprém pregame statements

On Saturday at 1:30 PM in Szeged the MOL-Pick Szeged and Telekom Veszprém will play against each other in the Hungarian Championship. The game will be broadcasted live by M4. We asked Roland Mikler and Gábor Ancsin about this upcoming derby.

 

 

Roland Mikler: I expect a close and tough clash of the titans. The Super cup was postponed so we have not met Szeged yet in this season, I am curious about how both teams will play this weekend. Our goal since the beginning of the season is to win every game in the Hungarian Championship, We cannot make mistakes. We go to Szeged to win the game, of course. It will be important to win with playing well and to not let the last minutes be a close one because we might fail if that happens. This is the Hungarian „El Classico”, I hope this brings out 120% from all of the players. I am sure that all players in both teams, even the new ones know the importance of this game. We have to play very well if we want to have a chance to win.

 

 

Gábor Ancsin: This game is going to be the hardest one of my life both emotionally and professionally. I am trying to close out the external things the best I can. The team is preparing for the game and so I am. I am trying to give the best I can in every game and I work very hard to show it in Szeged and to help my team to victory. This will be an important match of our season. It can leave a mark on the upcoming period so we have to fight hard from the first minute to the last because we will have a difficult job. Both clubs want the 2 points. It is important for us to play well because after that most of our players go to the national teams and after that we continue the very strong Champions League group. What we must improve is the more efficient scoring from our chances. We cannot allow ourselves to miss so many 100% layups against Szeged. We must focus on this and of course pay attention our disciplined and hard defense. We have to give everything we got on the court in order to come back home with a victory.
