Szeged – Veszprém pregame statements

The fate of the title will be decided on the MOL-Pick Szeged – MVM Veszprém Hungarian Championship play-off game. It will be held on Saturday at 3PM in Szeged. We have asked Coach Xavi Sabaté, Cristian Ugalde and Gasper Marguc before the game. The derby will be broadcasted live on M4.

 

 

Xavi Sabaté: The second game, which will be held in Szeged, will decide who is going to be the champion this year. In this year there is no any kind of series of finals. I am expecting a very hard away match but this time the pressure is on Szeged to win on home court in front of their own fans. Of course, as always, we would like to perform out best. We are aware of the fact that we will have a hard game in Szeged but we are going to go there in order to win.

 

 

Cristian Ugalde: I think that we are capable of winning in Szeged. This is my fourth year in Veszprém and so far we have won all the games against them during spring. These matches are always important and worth a trophy. Why would not this series continue? We have thoroughly analyzed last Saturday’s match and our mistakes. 3 minutes before the end of the game we had a 3-goal advantage and we had the ball, however at the end we could win only with 1 goal instead of 4 or 5. We know that this was our fault. This is why I think that we can win in Szeged because we are better than what we have showed on the previous game. We want to win the Hungarian Champion title. We have a hard season behind us so that is why we want to win the match for ourselves, for the fans and for the club.

 

 

Gasper Marguc: A very hard game is waiting for us. Unfortunately we have not played great on home court and we have managed to win with only one goal. However the most important thing is that we could win through. We played well in Szeged in the last few years so I think that we will perform better away, than we did it on home court. Of course I am expecting a hard clash but we are confident and we are going to go to Szeged in order to win.
