Statements about the Hungarian Cup

 

We asked our head coach and players about the upcoming Hungarian Cup Final4.

 

Ljubomir Vranjes: I hope that it is going to be a nice experience; I have never been to Debrecen. We are going to play against Balatonfüred first, and we are preparing for that of course. We had two great games against them in the championship, and I hope that we will have a nice third one as well so we can advance to the final. The final is going to be against either Csurgó or Szeged. I think Szeged is the favorite. We are watching every team and we are preparing. We will see what happens. We are eager to go there and win the title.

 

 

Roland Mikler: Only one game decides the fate of the Hungarian Cup, and there is a fierce competition for the trophy for years now. It got harder and harder year by year to win, that is why we do not think that it would be a smaller victory than a Championship title. We are preparing 100%. We will play the semi-final against Balatonfüred, who represent a bigger force each time we meet them. I think we have to give our best even in the semi-final, if we would like to advance to the final. I really hope that we can show our better form and that we will show that on the court. I am sure, that if we get into the final, we will play the best game of the season there. We will have a very tough job. We could experience how it feels when Szeged beats us on home court last time after many years, by playing well with extra performances. We want revenge and we would like to show that it was a minor hurdle from us. We would like to play well and win in the Cup final.

 

 

Patrik Ligetvári: I think that the Hungarian Cup comes in a good time for us, because we can play 2 great games. We are concentrating 100% because after the elimination from the Champions League we really have to win this title. We are working in order to do so. We will play against Balatonfüred first, to whom we prepare the same as we would for the final because we have to win both games. The second game will be harder, because we will probably play against Szeged. We will analyze and correct the mistakes we did on our home game against them last time, as those mistakes cannot be done again. We have to make a step forward in order to beat Szeged, and to win the Hungarian Cup for the third time in Debrecen.

 

 

Dragan Gajic: Our goal is to win the Hungarian Cup. We will play against a good team on Saturday, Balatonfüred always plays well against us. They are 4th team in the championship so we have to take this game seriously. Of course we expect to play the final against Szeged. It will be a big clash between the two biggest clubs in Hungary. I hope that now we stood up a bit from that hard defeat against Skjern. We are very motivated, but we do not want to talk about results or anything, we just know that we will give our best and play with emotions. At the end, I hope we will win.
