Silkeborg – Veszprém pregame statements

Another weekend and another away Champions League game is waiting for Telekom Veszprém. The “Építők” is going to travel to Denmark to play against Bjerringbro-Silkeborg. The clash will be broadcasted live by Sport1. We asked head coach Xavi Sabaté and Marko Kopljar about this upcoming match.

 

 

Xavi Sabaté: Silkeborg is a good team they showed it in Veszprém. It is always hard to play an away game in the Champions League, but we must continue working like until now. We must improve in attack because we had this 6-7 minutes in Paris where we missed 4-5 balls. That was the key. It is clear that in the Champions League it is not enough to play 55 minutes of good handball. If you have 5 minutes of blackout they run through you and it is very difficult to win after that. Silkeborg's strongest parts are the very aggressive defense and the quick fastbreaks. They have fast wingers and they are patient in attack. They have important players like Skube or Markussen but after them they have good players who are not big names but they are great players and they play like a team.

 

 

Marko Kopljar: Silkeborg showed here that they are not giving up even if they are in deficit. It is going to be a hard away match. They are hoping to beat us but I think we are getting in better shape day by day. Among their players Markussen stands out, but their biggest strength is the chemistry and real team play.
