On Wednesday at 7 pm MVM Veszprém is going to play against Borac Banja Luka, on Thursday at 6:45 against Vojvodina and on Friday at 7 pm against Spartak Vojput in the SEHA League. The first two games will be broadcasted by the Digi Sport 2, the third one by Digi Sport 1. We asked Coach Xavi Sabaté and Máté Lékai about these three games.
Xavi Sabaté, head coach of MVM Veszprém:
We expect very tough three days with three matches and travels. The Borac is a strong rival, I remember from the last season how difficult is playing against them there. They have good and experienced players like Obradovic, Trivundza and Bojinovic. We must play very focusing if we want to beat them.
I think that after the first match and travel it will be difficult to play in Vojvodina. The have a good team and they are stronger at home. They have recovered Curkovic who is very important in their defense, he is a really good player. We should bring a good performance in order to win against them.
The game against Spartak Vojput will be third one in a row that will make our task very difficult. Our players will be tired so we will try to manage appropriately their playing minutes to keep them as fresh as possible.
Máté Lékai, playmaker of MVM Veszprém:
It will be a little bit strange to play SEHA League games between a lots of Champions League matches. I played three games within three days last time maybe when I was 14-15 years old. But from the aspect of travelling that was the best solution, moreover in this case we will be able to prepare even better for our CL games. Obviously we would like to win all the three matches. Some young players will travel with us, they will get the chance to play and prove. I think these three games must not be a problem for us. After that a break is coming because of the international teams.
I think Banja Luka was a better team earlier than now, but it is never easy to win in Bosnia where the handball is very popular. I am sure there will be a good atmosphere at this time, too.
We have already played a game against Vojvodina in this season. We are talking about a Champions League team so we must not underestimate them. I hope there will be a good atmosphere in Novi Sad with Hungarian fans, too. I think this will be the most difficult game from the three.
I do not know too many things about Spartak Vojput, because this is their first season in the SEHA League, but we must stay focused against them, too.
