Schedule of the Super Globe

As we have reported in our previous article, Veszprém is going to take part in the Super Globe which is traditionally held in Qatar and considered to be the unofficial World Championship of the teams. The tournament is going to be held on September 7-10.

Compared to our previous article, there is a change in the line-up. Lakhwiya Club, the champion of Asia has withdrawn from participation; therefore the second wild-card team, Egyptian Al Ahli is going to play instead. (The first wild-card team is the EHF winner, Füchse Berlin)

Since the title defender and Europe’s best team of the year is FC Barcelona, Veszprém is going to represent Europe in the tournament where there will be a knockout round only.

The schedule of quarter finals and latter games is as follows. As you can see, the opponent team of Veszprém is going to be Brazilian Esporte Clube Taubaté representing America. The first match of the tournament is going to be held on Spetember 7, 1 PM. If Veszprém wins, the team will play against the winner of the Al-Sadd – Sydney University match in the semi-final on the next day, 8 PM. If the team performs well once again, they can play in the final on Septeber 10, 8 PM. – They might even get Barcelona as opponent team like in CL Final.

September 7, 2015 – Day of quarter finals

13:00: Veszprém – Esporte Clube Taubaté (BRA) – 2nd quarter final

15:00: Füchse Berlin (GER) - Club Africain (TUN) – 3rd quarter final

17:00: FC Barcelona (ESP) - Al-Ahly Sports Club (EGY) – 4th quarter final

19:00: Opening ceremony

20:00: Al-Sadd (QAT) - Sydney University Handball Club (AUS) – 1st quarter final

September 8, 2015 – Day of semi-finals

14:00: Match of the losing teams of the 3rd and 4th quarter final

16:00: Match of the losing teams of the 1st and 2nd quarter final

18:00: Match of the winners of the 3rd and 4th quarter final

20:00: Match of the winners of the 1st and 2nd quarter final
