Telekom Veszprém played against RotaChrom Dabas for the final of the Hungarian Cup 2019 in Debrecen. That was the first clash on Saturday, followed by the Balatonfüredi KSE – MOL-Pick Szeged semifinal.

 

Dabas started the game and scored the first goal by Szöllősi. But from the next action, Nagy equalized then Marguc took the lead to “Építők”. Mahé scored his 100th goal in Veszprém jersey and Marguc had his second goal made a 3-goal difference for the title-holder. Mikler saved and Blagotinsec succeeded at the end of a fastbreak and by this, the result of the semifinal was 1:5 after 5 minutes. Thanks to the focused performance of Veszprém and Mikler’s saves, the Dabas could score only once in the next 5 minutes while Ilic twice and Strlek once (10th min.: 2:8). After 15 minutes the result was 3:10. Dabas could score from penalty while Mahé scored another two action goals. After the goals of Perisic and Nilsson, in the end of 20th minutes, coach Tomori called his second time-out when the result was 4:11. In the 24th minute the fans were clapping to the nice goal of Nilsson. That was the 3rd goal of the Swedish pivot (5:14). Veszprém had already a 10-goal lead in the 28th minute after a great goal by Strlek. The two teams scored one-one goal in the remaining part of the first half so the players went to the locker room at result 6:16.

 

 

The second half got started by the goal of Nenadic but Szöllősi had an answer (32nd min.: 7:17). Then Ilic and Blagtinsek increased the lead. But the latter one was suspended for 2 minutes after the another goal of Szöllősi. But Gajic could score twice in this period making the result 8:21 after 36 minutes. Manaskov was suspended too, Perisic scored his penalty but Gajic had an answer again. In the 38th minute Blagotionsek was ejected after his 3rd 2-minute suspension while Perisic scored his another penalty (10:22). In the next 2 minutes, Ilic and Gajic scored and in the 40th minute the head coach of Dabas called a time-out at result 10:24. The next 5 minutes was won by Veszprém in a 1:4 difference thanks to the goals of Gajic, Manaskov, Nilsson and Ilic (45. min.: 11:28). In the end of 50th minute the Veszprém fans were cheering for the first goal of Szuharev and by this the result was 12:33. The next 5 minutes was better for Dabas because they could score 4 times while Veszprém only twice (55th min.: 16:35). The last goal was scored by Lékai and set the final result 16:38. It means that Telekom Veszprém qualified to the tomorrow’s final of Hungarian Cup.
