René Toft Hansen continues his career in Veszprém!

 

René Toft Hansen signed a 1 year contract with our Club and will be an official member of the team from 1 July 2018.

 

“I am very happy about my move to Veszprém. I played 6 years in Kiel and it was exciting to play here but every time we played in Veszprém, the atmosphere was unbelievable. I liked to play there. I think we have the same goals, the team and I. I do not have a Champions League title and Veszprém would also like to win the series. This was the deciding factor for me to move to Veszprém.” – said René.

 

The Danish line player and defensive specialist with 2 meters height and 110 kilograms weight was born on 1 November 1984 in Rybjerg. He started his professional career in Viborg where he played between 2003 and 2007. After that, he went to KIF Kolding until 2010, where he won the Danish championship for the first time. In 2010 he signed with AG Köbenhavn and won everything that is possible in Denmark. He won 2 championship titles and 2 cup titles in the capital. He has been playing in THW Kiel since 2012, where in his 6 years he won the Bundesliga 3 times and the German Cup once. In the Champions League he scored 131 goals so far, furthermore he was voted as best defender of the series in 2015.

 

He wore the Danish national jersey 135 times and scored 196 goals. With the exception of a World Championship, he won everything internationally. In 2012 he became a European champion, while in 2016 he won the Olympic games in Rio de Janeiro. Besides these, he won the World Junior Championship in Hungary in 2005.
