The game started with a minute of silence in memory of Zlatko Saracevic, who died a few days ago. The home team gained a penalty from their first attack, but missed it really badly. The parties were head to head in the first 5 minutes, and even in the 10th minute the score was 5:5. In Zagreb, the Hungarian Csaba Leimeter scored great goals, from Veszprém Kentin Mahé played really well giving assists and scoring goals. In the 19th minute, Veszprém went away 7:11, to which Zagreb called a time out. Five minutes before the end of the half, there was a seven goals difference between the parties. Thanks to Mahé and Cupara Veszprém collected a confident difference for the break. The players went in the locker room with a 11:17 standing.
 
The second period was kicked off with Maqueda’s turnover, and the second Veszprém offense also finished in a technical mistake. The standing in the 35th minute was 15:20, but Zagreb quickly shaved the difference to three goals. The home team was better in goal scoring in the second half, they scored 9 times in 10 minutes. Nenadic replaced Mahé in the second half, and he continued to give goal passes. In the 47th minute, Veszprém was ahead by five goals, 23:28. Four minutes later, with the third straight goals by Moraes, the „Építők” gained an eight goal lead, 23:31. Veszprém managed to secure the second position in the group with confident performance. Final result: Zagreb – Veszprém 28:35
 

David Davis: We tried to play a good rhythm today. We played faster and the players had good attitude. Our positional attack worked well. Congratulations to my team, because we secured the second place in the group and we will have confidence for the upcoming part. Good luck to Zagreb in the future.
 
Andreas Nilsson: We were seriously prepared for today and we wanted to get the second place in the group. Cupara saved well in the net today. We had some downtime in the second half that is why we did not start so good there. We knew what the young Zagreb is capable of so we had to prepare well. We are looking forward to our game on Saturday and Wednesday.

 

 
Ivica Obrvan: Congratulations to Veszprém, they are one of the best teams in Europe. I feel like we were a bit exhausted from the trip to Nantes. The second half was definitely better for us. The goal is to get back our confidence. That is why, the SEHA League and the domestic competition is more important now.
 
Filip Peric: Thanks to my coach or the chance to play. We delivered a good performance but it can be better. It is tough to play against Veszprém. Our goal is to grow from match to match. Our next game will be against Metaloplastika in the SEHA League where I feel like we have a chance to do good.
