PPD Zagreb - Telekom Veszprém 23:26
Both teams started the second half with a bad attack, the goal silence was broken by Gajic finally in the 35th minute. Four minutes later, Veszprém took a two goals lead, but Zagreb was still close. Székely had brilliant saves throughout the whole game, saved even clear chances many times. The guest team had their lead until the 45th minute, when PPD equalized 18:18. Veszprém naturally did not give up and managed to get a two goals lead once again by the 50th minute, 19:21. Zagreb seemed to be getting tired, and thanks to this and Székely’s savest he difference grew to three, which Zagreb could not climb. PPD Zagreb – Telekom Veszprém 23:26
David Davis: The game was hard to play, but we knew it before the match as well. We know that all teams of coach Vujovic play agressive defense and their attack is hard to prepare for because they are rotating in offense. Everyone was focused today, I am happy about that. This was the last game of the year, now everyone can go to their national teams, or home for the holidays. It is not easy to play the last game in away. I am sitting with Veselin Vujovic, who is a legend as a player and as a coach as well. In my first year as a professional, it was his last as one. I was seventeen and he was 33. I have great memories with him and the young guys. I will always remember him with a big smile on my face. I am happy for Márton Székely as well. He arrived this season to the club and little by little integrated well. He now played four games in five days in a high level.
Márton Székely: Our coach said everything. I would only like to say thanks to Zagreb for the great game. I was trusting our defense because they played really well today. I am happy for not just my performance but the defense’s as well. I am also happy to finish the year with a victory. Good luck to Zagreb in the SEHA League and in the Champions League.
