According to László Nagy, Vardar is one of the hardest opponent teams in the Champions League.
Our 35 year-old right back, László Nagy has been worn out because of the Hungarian Cup Final but is sure that he will be in good form again in Skopje and be able to support his teammates during the first CL quarter final game. According to the two-time CL winner handball player, Vardar is one of the hardest opponent teams in Europe which can make the best out of the other teams’ mistakes and feel more confident.

“Our last four SEHA League matches proved that Varder has become a key factor in the European handball world and it is no wonder that the players think of the final four qualification as an attainable goal. – said László Nagy to the Telekon Sports News Service. They play better than last year, their pivot player is an excellent player and their shots are sometimes really dangerous. We cannot say that we have improved that much but after participating in the Champions League final in 2015, it is really hard to set the bar higher. But as for our strategies, we are just as good as the other teams, our will to struggle is unquestionable if we look at our achievements and ending games.” – added László Nagy who has scored 33 goals in the last 10 national and international matches and is still the key player of Veszprém.
Last year the team led by Carlos Ortega could qualify in the CL Final Four defeating PSG. Currently Xavi Sabaté is the head coach who has gladly accepted the role as the coach of the Hungarian national team.
“First we had to play away against PSG, and ended the game with a draw in Paris, then we gained a six-goal victory in the rematch. Our aims are the same; we want to perform our best with the least amount of mistakes. As usual, we will go to Skopje for victory and a draw cannot be said to be an acceptable result.”
The team of László Nagy knows the arena in Skopje well; the atmosphere tends to be very intense especially when the home team becomes extremely confident by the opponent team’s lost balls.
“We have to make our shots and penalties efficient as well as to make a good defense strategy. There are two games left until the Final Four and I think we can make it to Cologne again.” – said László Nagy
