Our players’ program in January

We will not have any official games in the first month of 2015 because of the World Men's Handball Championship, which begins on 15th of January and lasts until 1st of February. We will have a few players in Qatar, but the Hungarians cannot go, since they were not able to achieve the qualification against Slovenia.

 

 

Though, the Hungarian team is preparing for the European qualifying competition with the new head coach Talant Dujsebajev. This week they are going to practice in Győr and from Friday they are going to take part in four-team preparation tournament in Spain. On the three-day tournament they are going to play against title defender hosts as well as Poland and Norway, who are preparing for the World Championship. László Nagy, Péter Gulyás, Gergő Iváncsik, Timuzsin Schuch, Roland Mikler and Máté Lékai will represent MKB-MVM Veszprém in the national team.

 

Dates of games in Oviedo:

January 9th Friday, 8 pm: Spain – Hungary

January 10th Saturday, 6 pm: Poland – Hungary

January 11th Sunday, 11 am: Norway –Hungary

The Hungarian players of our team are going back to Veszprém on Monday to start practicing with Carlos Ortega head coach for the second part of the season that might require much effort. The others will certainly train with them next week. In the past few days and weeks the members of the team have already begun to train individually in order to come back in their best condition after the short winter break because they will have a physical test next week.

 

 

Six players from Veszprém are going to take part in the World Championship. In group “A”, Slovenian Gasper Marguc will face the Spanish Cristian Ugalde and Chema Rodríguez, and in group “B” Bosnian Mirsad Terzic can try to outmaneuver Croatian goalkeeper Mirko Alilovic. Besides them Swedish Andreas Nilsson will be in Qatar.

 

We really hope that Veszprém players will perform well in the Championship, so that they can come back in great form with confidence and healthy.

Group A: Spain, Slovenia, Qatar, Belarus, Brazil, Chile

Group B: Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Austria, Tunisia, Iran

Group C: France, Sweden, Algeria, Czech Republic, Egypt, Iceland

Group D: Denmark, Poland, Russia, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Germany

 

 

In the following days and weeks the dates of our SEHA League games will be concrete, as well. As soon as the dates are certain, you can see them on the official website of the team. The first fixed date is an away match against Nexe on 7th of February at 7 pm. It will be broadcasted on Digi Sport1.
