Our Pink October campaign is over

 

The handball team of Veszprém has participated in the Pink October campaign for the 3rd year in a row. Last year our players wore pink t-shirts during warm up while two years ago they wore pink socks. This season the team encouraged the Supporters to stand by the fight against cancer in pink t-shirts and wristbands.

 

Our Fans have been able to buy these items in our shop and webshop while all the income have been donated to the Hungarian League Against Cancer. It means that our Supporters have not only been able to buy pink hummel products with a Veszprém logo but have also been able to support the fight against breast cancer.

 

 

Our two main sponsors, Hungarian Telekom and LV Sport, exclusive distributor of hummel in Hungary, have been our partners in this campaign. The sport goods distributor granted half of the products to sell for good will while our name sponsor bought the remaining part of t-shirts and wristbands that have been sold in our fan shop as well. The amount of money from the sale have been donated completely to the Hungarian League Against Cancer.

 

Seeing the demand for this product, our Club extended the campaign for November, so these pink accessories could have been bought last month also. Finally, the donated sum just from Telekom Veszprém was 850.000 HUF, which is the double of last year’s.

 

In the countrywide campaign, the donated sum was 2.600.000 HUF. The symbolic cheque of the donated money has been given to Balázs Rozványi, president of the Hungarian League Against Cancer by each representative of Telekom, LV Sport and our Club in the half time of Telekom Veszprém – PGE Vive Kielce game.

 

We would like to thank the kind-heartedness of our Supporters in this great cause, and we owe a huge thank you to our Partners, Hungarian Telekom and LV Sport as well because without them, this campaign would not have been such a success.
