Our Club is 42 years old today

 

Our Club is celebrating its 42nd anniversary today, as it has been established on 9 January 1977 as Veszprémi Építők SE under the wings of the Veszprém County State Construction Company (VÁÉV). Starting from the fourth division, Veszprém have already played in the first division in 1981, where uniquely they have closed every season with a medal ever since.

"Dear Handball Friends!

 

The founders of Veszprémi Építők SE established our Club on 9 January 1977, in a city where people love sport and that is why it has been a great environment for the successes this team has achieved. The members of the board may have never dreamed that the Club they have created will even live to be 42 years old, let alone becoming the absolutely most successful handball club of Hungary with its 25 Hungarian championship titles, 27 Hungarian Cup titles or becoming well-known and recognized in Europe as well with two Cup Winners Cup victories, two SEHA League titles and three Champions League final participations.

 

We owe a huge thanks to those who started our association and to those coaches, players, office workers, partners and fans who were busy making this Club win more and more trophies each year in the last 42 years. We are obligated to care about our heritage, and to keep the value of our Club by moving on the road started by our founders, which milestones appeared as big successes and I hope it will appear the same way in the future to the joy of this ever expanding Veszprém Handball Family.

 

We hope that our ancestors are proud of us for the work done in the last years and in present time, and that they will be in the future. For this, we will do everything to close this season according the 42 years of history of this Club.

 

Although the challenges of the 21 century demanded to set up a company, the part of the association is still determinative because they are the ones who keep and go on with the traditions and values which are necessary for our existence and function. This is why I would like to thank the work of the current board of the Club whose members work closely with Veszprém Handball Team Co. Ltd. on making it possible for the Club to achieve further successes.

 

I wish many more anniversaries and trophies to celebrate for this Club and for its one of a kind community! Let’s go Veszprém!
