Our Champions League game dates are official

 

The European Handball Federation, in co-ordination with the clubs, finalized the play dates of the 2018/19 Champions League season’s group phase. Telekom Veszprém will play its first game against Kielce at home, after which they will travel to Barcelona. Here is the full schedule of the group phase with the time intervals in which our games will be played:

According to the original plans, there has been one change that we have asked for. Because of the occupancy of the Veszprém Arena our games against Kristianstad have been changed. We will play against them in Sweden first, and then on home court.

 

 

As soon as the official throw off times will be presented, we will notify our Supporters.

 

Meanwhile our preparation has been finalized:

 

On 27 and 28 July the players will undergo medical check-ups, and after that on the 28th the new season will kick-off with a dinner.

 

The next day, 29 July, they will travel to The Netherlands to trainings camp, from where they will return on 4 August. After this the trainings will proceed in Veszprém.

 

 

A preparation game against Balatonfüred will be played on 10 August, which will be open for spectators.

 

The team will travel to Győr on 16 August, where they will have more practices and another game against Tatabánya, which is also open for spectators.

 

After this, the boys will get a little time to rest, then come more trainings in Veszprém until 23 August, when they will travel to Strasbourg to participate on the 3 days long tournament Eurotournoi. Telekom Veszprém got selected to group A, where they will meet the two finalists of the Champions League, HCB Nantes and HB Montpellier. In group B Vardar Skopje, PSG Handball and HC Meshkov Brest are the teams. Detailed schedule of our team:

- 24 August, 18:30: HCB Nantes – Telekom Veszprém

- 25 August, 20:30: Montpellier HB – Telekom Veszprém

- 26 August, 13:00: 5-6. Placement game; 15:00: Bronze game; 18:00: Final

 

After the French tournament the team will proceed with trainings in Veszprém, and on 31 August, they will play against RK Celje Pivovarna Lasko at 5:00 p.m. This open game will be the official season kick-off for us.
