Telekom Veszpém started the game with the Marguc-Yahia-Lékai-Mackovsek-Manaskov-Blagotinsek line, and Sterbik at goal. Our first goal was scored by Mackovsek, then Blagotinsek hit the net. The first goal of the home team was scored by Slavuljica, but Manaskov scored right away after that. Veszprém had a 3:6 lead in the first 5 minutes of the game, then the home team called for a timeout at 4:9. Every time Orosháza scored a goal, Veszprém had an answer. The result in the 15th minute was 5:13. The guest team had a 7:16 lead by the 20th minute, thanks to the goals of Mackovsek and the saves of Sterbik. By the end of the first half, the youngsters could step on court as well. 17 seconds before the end of the half, David Davis called a time out, but it did not make a difference in the result. The teams went on to the break with a 10:19 result.

 

The second period was started with Strlek goals and a Székely save. It was usual in the game that Veszprém dominated, but Orosháza’s goals all came from great plays. In the 42nd minute the home team narrowed the deficit to six goals, but of course, it has not been left unanswered. Borozan added to the lead to make it seven again. The result in the 45th minute was 18:25. The standing in the 55th minute was 21:29, mostly because of Strlek’s goals. Orosháza led great plays and could capitulate on their chances. With a little left on the clock, Bodor scored as well. The final result: Orosháza – Veszprém 25:31

 

 

David Davis: Of course, I am not satisfied because we need to play with respect towards the opponent every time, and today we did not do that. What we showed today is not a professional team. More than 60% of the team did not play well. I cannot be satisfied.

 

Manuel Strlek: Of course, we cannot be satisfied. We did not have concentration and will today, and in sport, anything can happen. I think the most important is that nobody was injured, and we took the two points. We keep on preparing for Kiel.

 

 

Ratko Djurkovic: Congratulations to our opponent. It was important for me, that my team has 100% attitude today. Everyone knew who is going to win this game at the end. It was a great game for us, so players could show who is going to be useful in the future. This is the fourth round, but we still have no points. I am satisfied with the performance today, because it was a team effort.

 

Ákos Lele: It is always hard to play against Veszprém. I would like to defend them a bit, because they are preparing for Kiel, and they are there in the head already. It was a great game for us, to show ourselves. It would be good to beat a rival team already. The result is in our favor luckily. Good luck to Veszprém in the championship and in the Champions League as well.
