Nikola Eklemovic is the new sports director of Telekom Veszprém

Veszprém Handball Ltd. has nominated Nikola Eklemovic as the new sports director of the Club from 15, June.

 

The supervision of the adult team’s and the youths’ professional work belong to his duties. His task is to help the Club’s management’s decision making and to facilitate the professional work of the teams.

 

 

Veszprém Handball Ltd. has not had a sports director status so far, however the Club wants to help the team’s work with this step and they also want to create a professional background in all fields which can help the coaches, the players and the youths’ work.

 

The sports director status is well-founded because the next season will put a big burden on the shoulders of Telekom Veszprém as the adult team will participate in the whole tournament of the Hungarian Championship, the SEHA League and the CL. Furthermore most of the players will be appointed for the 2017 World Championship in France from Telekom Veszprém’s team.

 

The nomination of the sports director will not have an effect on Xavi Sabate’s work. Veszprém Handball Ltd. has a valid contract with Coah Sabate and it still count on his work as a head coach.

Nikola Eklemovic

Serbian-Hungarian handball player, who has started his professional carrier as the player of RK Partizan in Belgrade and then he became the player of Crvena Zvezda. He has played in the Serbian National Team for 14 times. From 1999 he has played in PICK Szeged first and from 2004 he became he member of MKB Veszprém. He scored 422 goals on 170 matches here. In the Hungarian National Team he scored 80 goals on 32 matches. Between 2011 and 2014 he played in Wisla Plock and in 2014/15 he was the player of HCM Baia Mare. Eklemovic Nikola is 38 years old, married and the father of a child.
