New president and solid basis in Veszprém

Veszprém Handball Club convened an extraordinary general meeting on Saturday. The internationally acknowledged team will start the year 2016 with a new chairmanship and long-term plans.

 

The vacant post of the president is now filled by János Szabó Deputy CEO of Telekom and Captain László Nagy has become a member as well. The Co-President is still Gábor Kálomista, while the new Secretary-General is Zsolt Fazekas. The new members are the following: János Eppel, Tamás Erdei, Péter Csermely, Csaba Hajnal and István Csoknyai.

 

There have been some changes in the Veszprém Handball Ltd. owned and operated by the team. The new members of the Supervisor Board are the following: the new President János Szabó, Márta Talabér and Mayor Gyula Porga.

 

As the local government received 10% ownership of the company, the general meeting established the managing board as well. The members of the 5-member board are Péter Ovádi, CEO Gábor Kálomista, Péter Mihalovics, Antal Lakatos and Attila Várhegyi.

 

MVM Veszprém is the most successful Hungarian handball team which has won 23 Hungarian Championships, 24 Hungarian Cups, 2 EHF Cup Winners' Cups and the team is the only winner of SEHA League and a 2-time CL Final Four participant. In addition, Veszprém ended up in the 2nd place of the unofficial club world championship.

 

The main goal of the team is the same: the victory of the Hungarian Championship, the Hungarian Cup, the SEHA League and the qualification for the Final4 in Cologne.
