Motor Zaporozhye - Telekom Veszprém 29-27

We started with the Marguc, Yahia, Lékai, Lauge, Strlek and Blagotinsek team on the field, we changed Sipos to Lékai in attack. After 2 minutes Motor scored the first goal. Then Veszprém missed two penalties and after a lot of mistakes there were 3-0 lead for Motor. Ilic Momir took the first time-out. We scored our first goal in the 10th minute by Rasmus Lauge. We did a lot of mistakes but we equalized 6-6. Mahé came to the playmaker position. After a lot of mistakes and 2 2 miutes suspension (Maqueda and Nilsson) Motor took 10-6 lead. Mahé scored the the penalties with sure hands. In the half there were 14-12 for Motor Zaporozhye.

 

After 2 lost balls Lékai came back to the game. The Motor made some good game with the pivot the result was: 17-13. Veszprém made his game faster came closer: 18-16. The teams scored one one goals. Ligetvári came to the game. 22-20. Motor showed a smart and fast game, 25-21. We couldn’t find the key to win so the Motor team won with a very confident game. 29-27.

Momir Ilic: − Congratulations to Motor for the victory! I don’t understand what happened today, I couldn’t even recognize my own team. I had my first time-out at 3-0, I tried to sort my team out, I tried to help with substitutions, but nothing worked tonight. We made a lot of mistakes, we’re chasing Motor throughout the whole game, but they won easily. At the moment I’m unable to find anything positive about our performance, but handball is like that sometimes, we see each other again next week!

 

Kentin Mahé: - Good evening, first of all, I would like to congrats to the Motor team. I agree with Momo, it was absolutely a deserved victory. We didn’t find the rythm today, it was a little bit strange, we started the match without focus and anything else which we need to win. We have a few matches outside, we didn’t manage as we want. We need to work on that. We are happy to see Motor in a few days again to change it.  

 

Gintaras Savukynas: − I’m very happy about my team’s performance and about their attitude. We had games before when we started well, but most of the time we were unable to keep up this level and the opponent turned the game around. Fortunately this wasn’t the case tonight, the boys’ concentration and mentality was excellent, which is essential if you want defeat a team like Veszprém. This is the mentality that we need to keep for the future.

 

Aidenas Malasinskas: - Thanks Veszprém for the fight. I think coaches told everything but I just want to say that we are very happy right now, because Veszprém is one of the best club in the world. We have to be in a good mood right now because we win against one of the best team in the world. We tried it for a lot of years, I have been here for 7 years and we never win against them. I think today we managed to control the game from the begining and we were succesfull until the end of the game so. Thanks for the fight and Champions League doesn’t end so, we are looking forward also like them.
