Montpellier – Veszprém pregame statements

On Sunday at 6:30 pm Telekom Veszprém will step on the court in Montpellier in order to fight against the home team for the qualification to the VELUX Champions League Final4. The Hungarian Champions arrives to the rematch with a 3-goal lead. The game will be broadcasted live by Sport 1. Before this crucial match we asked our head coach and a player.

 

 

Xavi Sabaté: The Montpellier showed us in the last weekend how strong they are. They are in a very good form. Now we are going to step on the court in France where difficult moments will be waiting for us, for sure. But in these situations we must still stay calm and have a clear mind. Just like in the first leg – I think – the key will be our offense and balance because our opponent has very dangerous fastbreaks. Our team is great, we are in a good form and the players are fresh. They are very fast and run a lot. We must play for the victory.

 

 

Cristian Ugalde: There is one more step left to achieve our big goal and get into the Champions League Final4 again. It will be a very hard game in Montpellier, because their team is ve1ry good and fast, we could experience this last Saturday. Obviously they will be even better on home court. Fortunately we can travel to France having a 3-goal lead where – I guess – we will have chance not just for the qualification but also for the victory. But in order to this we must reduce the number of turnovers because if not then they will punish us with easy fast break goal and we can get into trouble. But I feel, we will be able to bring a good performance and fray out the qualification.
